The Cometic MLS (Multi Layer Steel) gasket is comprised of three layers of Stainless Steel. Cometic uses Stainless Steel for increased strength, its ability to rebound and corrosion resistance. The outer layers of the gasket are embossed and coated on both sides with a flouroelastomer rubber based material (Viton) designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions and surface finishes. The Viton coating is heat resistant to 250 degrees.

The composition of MLS will also withstand the shearing forces created by aluminum heads on cast iron blocks. No re-torque is necessary. By design the MLS gasket promotes an even torque load across the sealing surface allowing for measurable reduced bore distortion.

These head gaskets are available in a variety of thicknesses. Please choose the gasket thickness you prefer from the dropdown menu. For optional thicknesses, please choose the correct part number from the listings: Cometic head gasket part numbers end with a letter for the thickness range:

A = .027" to .051" (.69mm to 1.3mm) Thick
B = .056" to .075" (1.42mm to 1.91mm) Thick
C = .080" to .098" (2.03mm to 2.5mm) Thick
D = .120" to .140" (3.05mm to 3.56mm) Thick

Gaskets are sold each. For enough gaskets for a complete engine you must choose the correct quantity. (Example: V8 engines would require two gaskets)
